I did not think that I would be able to go to New Mexico this year due to some circumstances. However things changed a hit and I was able to go. Then the team gladly welcomed me to join the team even thought it was in the middle of the training season and I am very grateful for that.
There is a special place in my heart for new mexico. It was my first mission trip, and there I've come to encounter God more intimately and His different attributes more distinctively. On my first mission trip to New Mexico, I came to understand more deeply the Sovereignty of God. And there were many more the following years.
Another reason why New Mexico is special to me is because of the fellowship I've had with people from the Living Water Retreat Center.
So I wanted to go again this year to see how the kids were doing, to know how they are growing in the Lord and to encourage them if there is any that I could do.
The mission is a life long journey, but at the same time the New mexico mission started even from the train station. John and I met two Jehovah's witnesses and we were able to talk with them regarding who Jesus really . Though we know that we cannot persuade anyone with clever words, but because of what Saint Peter said in his epistle, we proclaimed the reasons for why we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord, God, who is the reason for our hope. Then we got on the train and after 13 hours, finally arrived at the retreat center.
Throughout the mission, I was so glad and thankful that I was able to come, because this year was truly special and the probably the best I've encountered so far. First of all, all the members were united in one goal, to proclaim the truth regarding Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him. And because of that there was so much unity and profound fellowship amongst us. Secondly, the leadership were superb leading the team. I was astonished by the wisdom and leadership the leaders demonstrated throughout the mission trip.
Knowing that it might be the last Mission trip to New Mexico for me, I wanted to spend more quality time with the 4 fellows that I've come to know 2 years ago. The leaders were happy to adjust the schedule so that we, as a team, would spend more time with people from New Mexico then just amongst ourselves, and I was again grateful for that.
I was able to talk with tiger Lillie and for the first time hear her testimony of how she came to know the Lord. I shared my testimony as well, and briefly shared the doctrine of the perseverance of Saints to encourage her in her walk and also to give her confidence in the Lord. Then we played our annual baseball game. I had so much fun playing with them. I will miss all the time I've spent with them and will continue to pray that they would be strong in the Lord.
Every year, I am encouraged by the missionaris there, Sunny and Heaven.
They really demonstrate the brotherly love that are written in the Scripture. Their love for the kids are genuine and year after year, I am reminded of the love of Christ for the flock and also encouraged to do the same.
I don't think I can forget this years mission trip and I will not forget my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in New Mexico. I am not sure if I will be able to see them again, but I know that I will see them all in the presence of our Lord when we are all glorified. Praise God for his providence and all His blessings. Soli Deo Gloria
